All communities need a focal point, and Crowborough is no different. Research has shown that local people want to restore a sense of community by creating a space where residents, clubs, voluntary organisations and local businesses can come together to learn, share ideas, meet and socialise.
The new Crowborough Centre will offer just this. An ambitious, multi-purpose space in a central location, the centre will include a hall and stage, a dance studio and three meeting rooms.
To make this happen, the Crowborough Community Association has worked with partners to raise over £1.5 million, including a £300,000 grant from the National Lottery, towards the £3.5 million needed.
We now urgently need to raise a further £2 million for building work to begin. To turn this project into a reality, we need everybody in the community to do something to either help raise funds, or to help our fundraising campaign.
